Executive Laundry increases clean side capacity

Following the installation of a new tunnel washer, the clean side became the next challenge. By expanding the D3 monorail system, the laundry is ready for future growth.

Smart expansion after increasing washing capacity

Following the installation of a new tunnel washer, Executive Laundry Group in Wellington, New Zealand, significantly increased its washing capacity. About a year later, it became clear that the bottleneck had shifted from the tunnel washer to the D3 monorail system on the clean side.

The existing lift handled both goods destined for the ironer lines and goods requiring full drying. As production increased, the capacity of the existing lift was no longer sufficient to process both product flows efficiently.

Expanding capacity within the existing laundry

Together with Executive Laundry Group, we identified where additional capacity would have the greatest impact. Rather than replacing the complete installation, the existing product flow was optimised through a targeted expansion.

A second lift was installed to separate the two main product flows:

• one lift dedicated to goods for the ironer lines;
• one lift dedicated to full-dry goods.

The number of buffer lanes was also increased. Despite the limited available space on the clean side, the additional buffering capacity enables the laundry to handle the higher production volume more efficiently.

For the new ironer line, Senso Technics also supplied an additional unloading station with chute, together with new conveyors and infeed conveyors. This ensures a smooth and continuous product flow throughout the finishing process.

Ready for the next step

By investing in the clean side, Executive Laundry can now fully utilise the increased capacity of its tunnel washer.

The expansion provides a better balance between product flows, increased buffering capacity and a more efficient supply to the finishing department. Without rebuilding the entire laundry, the installation is now prepared for future growth.

With this expansion, Executive Laundry has not only increased today’s capacity but is also ready for tomorrow’s growth.
